Mike earned a Bachelor of Arts in Architecture from the University of New Mexico and has dedicated more than 35 years to creating thoughtful, environmentally responsible architecture.

Mike began his career with Janus Associates in Phoenix, Arizona, working on historic preservation and passive solar design before relocating to Aspen in 1990 to join Aspen Design Group and pursue sustainable resort development. Throughout his career, he has remained committed to designing buildings that are both environmentally conscious and enduring in their appeal.

Mike believes exceptional architecture is timeless - rooted in its surroundings, responsive to its environment, and contemporary in its expression. His work is influenced by renowned architects Louis Kahn and Frank Lloyd Wright, as well as his father, a professional artist and student of architecture, who fostered Mike's appreciation for design, creativity, and craftsmanship.

When he's not designing, Mike enjoys cycling, sketching, painting, photography, and spending time on the water fly-fishing.
