This Edwards residence was conceived to feel as though it had always belonged to the land, additive in nature, with a design language that blends the old with the new.

The layout evokes the feeling of organic growth, with each structure appearing to have been introduced over time. From a distance, the architecture presents a weathered, timeworn appearance; up close, it reveals a fresh interpretation of a traditional barn.

A detached guest barn, clad in reclaimed wood, operates either independently or in harmony with the main house and reinforces the story of a historic outbuilding repurposed for modern use.

This project is a thoughtful study in mountain modern architecture, where timeless materials and contextual design come together to create a retreat rooted in both memory and experience.
