Asheville Lodge

The concept for the Asheville Lodge was to create a timeless lodge structure with historical references evocative of the traditions and grandeur of the Biltmore legacy. Designed to feel as though it could have hosted the invited weekend guests of the George Vanderbilt family, the architecture reflects the materials and agrarian character found throughout this historic portion of the estate.

This commercial hospitality project in Asheville, North Carolina spans approximately 150,000 square feet and includes 200 guest rooms, a full-service restaurant and bar, flexible conference spaces, an expansive outdoor event lawn, and a 9,500-square-foot spa facility with a pool terrace and private spa terraces. The architecture blends elegance and function, capturing the spirit of the estate while offering a refined, four- to five-star guest experience.

Trappers Island

Located in Boise, Idaho, the Trappers Island residential community offers a thoughtfully designed neighborhood experience that seamlessly integrates contemporary residential architecture with inviting outdoor spaces. Surrounded by walkable pathways and lush landscaping, the development encourages residents to engage with nature, local dining, and cultural amenities just steps from their front doors.

The community’s sleek architectural design extends to its serene pool area, creating an ideal and fun retreat for local residents. Trappers Island will create a vibrant and connected lifestyle through carefully curated architecture that prioritizes both functionality and design appeal to the rapidly growing Boise area.

Stotts Mill Residence

Located near Old Town Basalt, Colorado this Poss residential architecture project exemplifies thoughtful craftsmanship and site-responsive design. The architecture is carefully tailored to embrace the unique characteristics of its lot, seamlessly integrating indoor and outdoor living. Expansive windows at the back frame stunning mountain views, inviting natural light and fresh mountain air to permeate the interiors. The transitional modern style reflects a contemporary interpretation of the timeless Colorado mountain aesthetic, resulting in a home that harmonizes beauty and function within its natural setting.

Unique Wilderness Homes

Nestled on the eastern slope of the Carson Range in Tahoe, Nevada, these Clear Creek residences span 2,136 acres of pristine natural refuge just 20 minutes from Incline Village and the Heavenly ski slopes. Surrounded by six million acres of national forest, this sanctuary offers unparalleled privacy and connection to nature. Our team’s design of the 3- and 4-bedroom residences reflects contemporary residential architecture with a focus on elegance and seamless outdoor integration. Full-height glass and operable walls enhance the connection to the stunning landscape, inviting natural light and mountain views into the interiors. Carefully selected colors and materials complement the rugged terrain and majestic Jeffrey pines, creating homes that are not only visually striking but also harmoniously integrated with their environment.

Mountain View Residence

Intentional Design

The Mountain View residence is a warm, contemporary mountain modern home thoughtfully designed to complement its stunning Aspen setting. Perched on a steep slope, this residential architecture project offers panoramic views from Independence Pass to Mount Sopris. Stone walls anchor the house to the site, creating seamless indoor-outdoor living and grounding the design in its natural mountain context.

A light material palette enhances the home's warmth and openness, with large windows framing breathtaking views and filling the interiors with natural light. The site’s steepness inspired a sophisticated architectural solution that balances complexity with effortless elegance.

This project exemplifies refined Colorado residential architecture, blending thoughtful design, natural beauty, and technical precision into a welcoming mountain modern retreat.

theStelle Lodge at SkyRidge

Luxurious Lodge

Located on the north shore of the Jordanelle Reservoir in Park City, Utah, theStelle Lodge is the architectural centerpiece of the SkyRidge Mountain Community. Designed as a luxury hospitality destination, the Lodge currently includes 62 thoughtfully designed units and 94 keys, ranging from 700-square-foot studio suites to expansive 3,600-square-foot, four-bedroom accommodations.

Spanning 215,000 square feet of enclosed space and an additional 100,000 square feet of exterior terraces and rooftop decks, this mountain lodge prioritizes connection to the landscape. Over 90 percent of the units enjoy sweeping views of the reservoir and the surrounding peaks of Deer Valley and Mayflower ski resorts. The architecture reflects a refined mountain aesthetic, blending modern design with the natural beauty of its Park City surroundings.

Telluride Residence

Light on the Land

Set on a heavily wooded site in Telluride, Colorado, this custom contemporary residence is a thoughtful expression of mountain architecture that responds directly to its natural surroundings. Drawing inspiration from the native Aspen and conifer trees, the design incorporates natural stone, warm wood finishes, narrow-profile windows, and exposed structural steel to establish a strong connection to the landscape.

Crafted details throughout the home echo the organic forms of the surrounding forest, showcasing fine craftsmanship and adding a layer of character to the architecture. Designed to sit lightly on the land, the residence is carefully sited to minimize environmental impact while maximizing privacy and views. The steep terrain opens opportunities for elevated decks and generous outdoor living spaces, offering seclusion without sacrificing light or openness. The result is a harmonious blend of contemporary design and Colorado mountain living.

Summit View Ranch

A Classic Colorado Ranch

Summit View Ranch is a stunning example of Colorado mountain modern architecture, set within a vast and ecologically diverse 3,200-acre property. Backed by the Pike National Forest and Mount Evans Wilderness Area, this rugged Evergreen landscape features old-growth spruce, lush valleys, and dramatic terrain ranging from open meadows to steep, rocky slopes.

The residence at the heart of the ranch is thoughtfully designed to blend into its natural surroundings. A material palette of timber, stone, and warm, earthy tones reflects the character of the site, while the architecture offers a contemporary interpretation of traditional ranch living. With its seamless integration into the landscape and expansive views, this residence exemplifies the harmony of design, setting, and the spirit of the Colorado wilderness.

Cimarron Mountain Club

Mountain Ski Lodge

This 15,000 sq. ft. private ski lodge is the centerpiece of the Cimarron Mountain Club, an exclusive Colorado ski ranch serving just 13 ranch owner families. Designed by Poss, the architecture reflects a thoughtful approach to luxury mountain living, integrating functionality, comfort, and sustainability.

The lodge features a family lounge and day room, bar, dining area, display kitchen, conference space, ski and fitness amenities, six hospitality keys, owner storage, and outfitter areas. Beyond the lodge, Poss also designed an employee village and multiple facility barns, incorporating environmentally sensitive systems throughout the development.

Set on 1,750 acres of private snowcat-accessed terrain, the Cimarron Mountain Club offers year-round adventure and a one-of-a-kind architectural retreat deeply rooted in Colorado’s mountain landscape.

Zentana Conference Resort

Conference Center with Wellness in Mind

These early conceptual images and massing studies offer a glimpse into the initial design direction for this Colorado hospitality project. From the outset, the land and its surroundings have shaped our thinking. While the broader area is slated for future urban development, our vision remains rooted in honoring the natural prairie landscape of the Front Range and the region’s historic relationship between architecture and place.

This influence led us to explore simple, timeless forms, architecture that is restrained in massing yet expressive through its materiality. Through pattern, texture, light, and shadow, the design evokes a sense of movement and connection to the land.

At the heart of this vision is a strong focus on wellness. Our customized Be Well at Zentana program has guided the planning from the earliest phases, establishing wellness as a defining feature of the guest experience and overall hospitality offering.
